Every year, I offer FREE School Portrait Mini Sessions. Why? Because I know that sometimes, those school pictures just aren’t all that they are cracked up to be. I have been there. My kids have come home with hair sticking up, big surprised eyes, food on their teeth and even blue-tinted skin. Not because they ate something blue, but because someone forgot to get the color balance correct and well, I had a blue kid – a smurf almost. I had him do a retake and although he was not AS blue, he still had a tint of it. And honestly, the “smurf” pictures did me in. I set up a backdrop, had my son sit and smile. He was wearing the exact same clothes he wore for his school picture. What did I get? No blue! I think they were just going so fast to get through all those kids that they just did their regular editing and didn’t even take a real glance at the results. So after that, I decided to offer the this free service to other parents, whether they didn’t like those school pictures or maybe they home-schooled their kids and didn’t have a chance to get any done. This year, I didn’t get to take in as many kids due to a scheduling error (my fault), but next year, I will make sure to make room for more!
