Happy New Year!

It’s the 1st of the year and my to-do list is quite long. So much is happening and so I wanted to share a little with you all. It explains why I have been so quiet and why business has been on hold.

As most of you may have read or seen for yourself, my floors are finally done. BUT… we had a little mishap with installation and throughout the last month and a half we have been going back and forth with the installers about how to solve this.

They decided that the solution is to reinstall the floors throughout the whole house. BUT… we don’t want to do that. It was a pattern mistake, but we do know that they were installed correctly, just doesn’t have the look that was intended. Plus it is just is too much of a process. I still have not returned my personal items as well as studio items back from storage. Along with that, my husband ended up having complications with his shoulder and is having surgery in the beginning of January. (eNewsletter subscribers… I noticed I typo in the email. It said he was having surgery in July. He’s having surgery this month.)

That brings us to my schedule.

His surgery will be on January 8th and then he will be out of work for two weeks. He cannot use his arm at all for those two weeks and he will be in a lot of pain. The type of surgery he is having is not an in-and-out quick thing, it’s quite invasive. After two weeks of being home, he will then have it in a sling and still not be able to use it for another 6 weeks. As you can probably guess, he will be needing help daily so he can heal as quickly and smoothly as possible.

Because of this, I will not be available until for sessions until January 19th. I have already spoken to some of you about sessions in January – I WILL STILL DO THOSE SESSIONSI just may not be able to do them as early as we have planned. Please contact me to discuss this further.

bathgiveAs for plans once this surgery & healing passes, the first thing I am doing is bringing back my Bathing Beauties Mini Sessions. These are one of my favorites sets and so I want to bring this back for the spring. again. I want to bring that back. Bathing Beauties will be getting a new backdrop that I will have to paint by hand. Everything else will still be the same with maybe a few new vintage props and accessories. But I am still keeping it very simple so the main focus is your little ones.

I am also working on Spring-themed backdrop ideas. Many of you know I enjoy creating hand-made props and backdrops. I’ve painted, cut, glued and so on to give a unique look and experience. While my husband is recuperating I will be working on these sets. I am hoping to offer the Bathing Beauties sessions in March. But once again, he may be going on deployment that month, so I have to work around that. (The joys of military life… always a guessing game. But it’s ok, I can do this!)

Another thing I am working on is turning my Fresh Focus Parent Workshop into an online course. You will create your own account here on this site, enroll in the class and take your time through the lessons, ask questions and keep an online workbook. I am also creating a forum here for questions and image critique. This will take time since I am so used to talking through portions of the class in a live class. So now I have to write all my thoughts, make sure they makes sense and also re-read to make sure I don’t forget anything. I am hoping to have it ready by January 15th. For more information on Fresh Focus click HERE.

As of right now, I am reopening (for sessions) on January 19th. But if you need help with an order, have questions, etc., please contact me either by email through the contact form on this site, my main website, send a message through my Facebook page or call me. Please do not send a message through my personal Facebook profile because they will get read and lost. It’s always best to use my Facebook page or email.
