  • We are Permanently Closed

After serving Oak Harbor since 2006, I have closed my doors officially. I am still on Whidbey Island, but no longer offering photography services or learning classes on a regular basis. I am only offering Preschool Portraits for Ms. Ashley's Preschool in the spring.

Past clients may be able to purchase digital images from their past sessions if they are still available on my archive drives. Contact me for more info.

If you are a photographer inquiring about the possible purchase of my props and/or backdrops, many of my items are listed on Facebook Marketplace. Feel free to contact me for direct links or to inquire about anything you see in y portraits that you are interested in to see if they are available.

Thank you for trusting me with your family portraits since 2006. I loved working with you all.

Hmm… what’s that smell?

For anyone who’s been here for their portrait session or to pick up their order, you pretty much always see that I have a candle burning. I love candles and I especially love coffee scents. I love walking down the coffee isle in the store. What’s even funnier is I love the smell, but can’t stand drinking coffee.

I can never seem to find a really good coffee scented candle anywhere. And if I do, it doesn’t seem to be very strong or last long. Well, the other day I was walking around the little shops on Pioneer (in Oak Harbor) and walked into the Harbor Glow Candle Company. As soon as I walked in, it smelled good! And so I had to ask if they had any coffee scented candles. They happen to have a Cafe Collection, in which I purchased the Roasted Coffee scent.

I wasn’t sure if it would last after the first few times, but oh yes, it’s long lasting and smells wonderful! And it came in a cute little cup that you can use for your coffee (or hot chocolate in my case) once the candle has burned through.

So, I just wanted to share how happy I am and to let you all know that if you love candles, the Harbor Glow Candle Company is the place to go to! And when you come in for your portrait session, order appointment or to pick up your order, don’t be surprised if it smells like coffee!

Model Search Update

I have been out and about looking for sponsors to donate a small prize for the local studio winner. So far, the Hip Hop Bouncin’ Family Fun Center has donated 2 Free Passes for open jump. I’m still waiting for replies from other businesses. If you are a business owner and would like to donate to the prize basket, please call me at (360) 632-3027 or send an email to customers@reneegphotography.com.

Date change – the last day for model sessions has been changed to March 21st. I have to have all submissions in by the 25th, so this gives me time to process and submit.

An all-day open house for walk-in model sessions is in the works. It will be on a Saturday, from 11am to 5pm – date to be determined. The backdrop will be white with a white floor and clothing changes may be limited to keep things running smoothly. More info to come soon. Subscribe to the blog to get a notice of the date, time, clothing suggestions and more as soon as it’s posted.
