  • We are Permanently Closed

After serving Oak Harbor since 2006, I have closed my doors officially. I am still on Whidbey Island, but no longer offering photography services or learning classes on a regular basis. I am only offering Preschool Portraits for Ms. Ashley's Preschool in the spring.

Past clients may be able to purchase digital images from their past sessions if they are still available on my archive drives. Contact me for more info.

If you are a photographer inquiring about the possible purchase of my props and/or backdrops, many of my items are listed on Facebook Marketplace. Feel free to contact me for direct links or to inquire about anything you see in y portraits that you are interested in to see if they are available.

Thank you for trusting me with your family portraits since 2006. I loved working with you all.

    Renee

Surprise! I’m early! – Newborn Session

Baby L came earlier than expected. A few days before mom’s scheduled pregnancy session I received a message that an emergency C-section had to be done and they were just not sure yet about how things were going to go. Although there was a little scare and quite some time in the NICU, I am happy to report that she is perfect. She still does have some recovering to do and a few more visits to her doctor, but she did wonderfully for her newborn session. Because she had the feeding tube, we were unable to get her into some of the tighter poses. But the fact that she stayed awake, was so social and aware of us was so amazing. She even gave us smiles and other adorable expressions! I got to cuddle with her too, which I always love to do. It’s my chance to get my baby fix. 🙂

Although I am closing soon, I am offering availability for her as she grows if mom and dad would like to bring her in for her first year portraits as we did for her older brother. (Mom & Dad, just let me know if you would like to do that)

Laundry plus Arts & Crafts Display Room – Work in Progress

I love so many different styles that it’s always been hard to narrow down a particular look I want for anything in my house. Pinterest is like a nightmare to me sometimes. I sometimes think I have a particular look I want, then change my mind after a few days of planning. Bleh! This is why I don’t have tattoos. I know I would end up wanting it somewhere else, a size bigger or smaller, a different color or a completely different design all together. Yep, I’m THAT difficult with myself.

My laundry room is not big. It’s something you must pass in order to get into our downstairs bathroom. It’s an obvious area and something I wanted to try to make look “pretty” or at least more appealing. It had begun to collect small items my kids had made throughout the years. It still collects little things here and there and I need to really start moving things around. (This is one thing I am tackling throughout my whole house in the next coming months) Anyway, since art work and crafts were already hanging on the walls in one corner, I figured it was time to add some more to very big empty space above the washer & dryer. After months (maybe years) of planning, I finally finished one little project I wanted to do.

My kids are getting older and I always wanted to frame their handprints. I am an authorized dealer for The Organic Bloom and took advantage of it by ordering some heart frames when I saw them available. I then dragged my kids to the arts & crafts store to pick out their colors (acrylic paint) and bought some watercolor paper. Once the frames were delivered to my front door it was then a matter of finding time to get them done. As always, one was willing (6 yr old), one was unsure (9 yr old) and the eldest was being bothered by it all (13 yr old). But the fact that it was a quick & easy task kept them happy. They received candy/donuts as well.

I stil have to buy some organizing totes and get some other things on the walls, but I am happy that this is done. I am happy that I don’t have a stack of frames being moved from place to place so they don’t get messed up. I’m happy that I finally froze a moment while they are young.

If you have any ideas, suggestions and/or advice for me, feel free to comment. I’ll post updates as I get this little room looking the way I want it to. 🙂

Schedule is Full, Then I Close

Renee Giugliano Photography, Oak Harbor, WA Photographer specializing in Pregnancy, Newborn & Children

Cherry blossoms… can’t wait until my tree blooms this year.

Well folks, my schedule for February and March are completely full. I did overbook again (whoops!) because I have a hard time saying no to all your adorable kids. Deposits are still coming in and of course, there is a waiting list available in case someone changes their mind.  But this is it, I have no more room in my schedule to add in any more at this time. If you need a referral to another photographer in the area with similar style & quality, I will be more than happy to provide those to you through email.

I had plans to offer Tulip Mini Sessions in March. But it looks they are scheduled to bloom in April and I can’t push back my closure date right now. If anything changes, I will let you know by the newsletter.

I may be offering my Fresh Focus class in May or June if there is enough interest and if I have time. Again, will send updates in the newsletter.

The Portrait Coterie program will still be available for small handmade boutiques, etc.  Click HERE for more information.

I will be posting updates here on the blog, both personal and professional. I need to get back in to the MWAC (mom with a camera) role for a bit. You’ll see the “My memories, my moments.” watermark on them. Just sharing what I am up to and family adventures. I will also post any updated news on my reopening date. Because remember, I am NOT closing permanently, just taking a break for a bit. We’re not moving, so you will see me around. 🙂

I will be doing a few sessions here and there but I will only be posting about availability when it comes to model sessions. The non-model sessions will be personal projects or for further learning for myself. If I do notice that I have extra time in which I can take in a session, I will let you all know.

Again, all session availability will be posted through my newsletter, click HERE to subscribe.

Six Month Old “C” – Mini Session

We last saw this sweetheart back at her 3 month session with her sister. Unfortunately this may be my last session with her since her family is moving to another state very soon. I have had the honor photographing her older sister’s first year and so I am a little bummed that I cannot do the entire year for her. But.. I am so glad that I was able to get her in here twice before they leave. Mom did mention that they may be back in town during her birthday month, so hopefully our dates will match up and I will be able to celebrate her 1st birthday with her. Fingers crossed! 😀

Second Baby Plan Graduate – 1st Birthday

Lots of sugar highs going on over here! Yep, another first birthday and this time, we had quite a bit more of a mess with the cake than the last. First of all, I just love those curls! Every time he came in, he had more blond and more curls! So adorable! Well, little L was quiet during the first portion. But as soon as he got into his little bow tie and we switched up the set, his personality changed and he was ready for action. He didn’t seem to sure about those balloons. I think he was getting a little frustrated that the strings kept wrapping around him. When it was time for cake, he was not shy, nor did he care about anyone or anything else in the room. He was focused and determined as he enjoyed his cake. But once he was done, he was speed crawling. He almost got me a few times, but mom was quick and swift to save me from all the blue icing. Thanks mom! I appreciated it!

It’s been a great year! Little L was the winner of this year long baby plan from a giveaway I did back in 2013. I knew I was going to be taking my upcoming break and so I wanted to add another baby planner to my schedule. So glad I had the pleasure of meeting and enjoying the company of this family throughout the year. Thank you so much for all the fun sessions!
